Things Happen

Well, on Tuesday we had a major change to our bike plans. Jim took a tumble on old route 3 north of Thomasville, GA and fractured his clavicle. He is banged up a bit, various road rashes, knee, leg, arm, shoulder. Thank God he was wearing his helmet. Please, always wear your bike helmet!!!

Jim finished the day’s mileage and made it to the motel, about 25 miles after his crash. We took him to the hospital, and they confirmed his injury. Sadly, Jim cannot continue with the ride. We drove back to Tampa on Wednesday 4/2 where he can get a flight back home. Fortunately we were able to load him with Ibuprofen, Acetominophen, beer and bbq and he was fine for the car ride back to Odessa.

We are making changes to our pack list and gear and will get riding on Saturday from Cuthbert, GA to Alabama. We will finish the journey, but it will require significant changes on our part. Please wish Jim a speedy recovery. Stay tuned here for more updates and information.
