Final 2 days: finish line at Lighthouse Park in Mukilteo, WA

The trip is over! On day 73 we rode from Leavenworth to Gold Bar. The view crossing the bridge of the South Fork of the Skykomish River was incredibly beautiful. We especially enjoyed the ride from Steven's Pass (elevation 5485 feet) to Gold Bar (elevation 246 feet). That was exhilarating.

That night we spent with Jess Hayes in Gold Bar. Jess is our son Tom's mother-in-law. We enjoyed some great snacks and Mexican takeout for dinner. The next day was overcast and a bit cool and we had a lot of short steep up and down hills.

The last few miles were all downhill to Lighthouse Park in Mukiliteo where we dipped our tires in the waters of Puget Sound. Our son Tom and friend Jerry French were there with Susan and the dogs to cheer us on! We had fish and chips by the water and after that we headed to Tom and Ashley's house in Puyallup for a few days.

WHAT A MAGNIFICENT RIDE! We finished in 74 days, biking 3,100 miles and putting 4,400 miles on the motor home. We spent nights at 60 different campgrounds and spent 14 days with family and friends. We did several radio and TV interviews, arranged by the great people at The Wounded Warrior Project, and raised more than $8,000.

Thanks to all of you for your support.
