It’s our last day of being trolls — for those of you outside the loop, in Michigan those who live in the lower peninsula (LP) “under the bridge” are referred to as trolls and those in the upper peninsula (UP) are known as “yoopers”. We’ve had an excellent week riding through Perry, Midland, Evart, Cadillac, Traverse City, East Jordan, Petoskey, Mackinaw City, etc etc.

We visited dear friends that we haven’t seen in a long time and I was able to revisit my hometown after ~15ish years.
Tomorrow we’ll drive the Coffey Express (aka Betty the Beige Bandit) across the Mighty Mac (aka the Mackinac Bridge) and start our ride in St. Ignace
Some highlights from the LP include:
BBQ at Waters Fruit Farm and seeing friends from Midland and surrounding areas
Seeing the worlds largest cherry pie pan in Traverse City
Climbing the sleeping bear dunes
Taking the Ironton ferry on our bikes (only $1 per bike!)
Walking around the downtown/Tridge area
Having Bill Pritchett guest ride with us for two days
Taking the Pere Marquette trail (fun fact: I took my very first 20 mile ride on this exact trail about 25 years ago!)
If you rode the Pere Marquette rail trail from Clare to Evart at one point you were within two and a half miles of our cottage!
